GREAT BRITAIN - Today at the joust being held at Elsith castle, Lord Hainsworth’s horse tripped in the middle of the competition between Lord Hainsworth and Sir Loraine. They were in the final stretch of the competition when, to Hainsworth’s surprise, his horse gave out and fainted. “It took me by surprise” Hainsworth says while dusting off his armor. His leg was trapped and might be broken. “His horse fell and a sickening crunch echoed throughout the castle” States a servant who was washing the dishes. Currently Lord Hainsworth is being treated by the nearest Wizard, Larel. “I expect him to make a full recovery, but until then I have to keep brewing this healing potion to speed up the process and help settle his leg back into place” Larel states while sitting at his laboratory. “I hope he’ll get better” states Loraine as he trudges back to the castle to an awaiting feast that the servants prepared. Even the Jester was scared for Hainsworth. “He’s the only person who gets my jokes and the only person who’s ever hired me before” the jester says while choking back tears. He wasn’t the only person who though Hainsworth was dead from the nasty fall. “It scared me to think that he would be dead” His wife states and cries for joy. “I couldn’t manage a castle like this on my own” Says his advisor, who got nervous at even the thought of it.
POPE CALLS FOR CRUSADE EUROPE - Today Pope Urban the 2nd decided to call for a fight to take back Jerusalem. “It’s the will of God!” he proclaimed in a speech that moved even the lowest of peasants. Afterwards the peasants got up and marched home to tell everyone they knew.
“This is the biggest thing that has happened since Antoine Lo’Arc accidently tripped his cow!” exclaimed one of the Maids, who were standing and listening from the outside.
“This is what God declares!” Cries Peter, a hermit, as a small army echoes him. The army was made of mainly peasants and lords, unlike the army of knights that was set to leave on August 15th.
“How dare they take our Holy City,” states Adhemar of Le Puy, who was reportedly, the first person to take up the oath to free the Holy City and support anyone who is in the crusade.
“The response was even larger than I expected” said the surprised Pope, who had only been expecting ⅓ of the actual amount of people to respond. He met just earlier this week to talk about the Holy city with a group of princes.
There have already been attacks on Jewish people here in France, as many people hear the message.
“I heard and wanted to join the crusades, but i thought better and decided our enemy is already here in our towns” states Bernard Dre’Oc, a blacksmith who heard the message but didn’t want to leave his home town.
Many of these revolts forced Jewish people out of their homes into exile or the Christians killed them in their houses and took their money.
Today I’m here with Lord Naird, a lord known for his astounding tactics on the battlefield. He grew up a peasant on Lord Beyler, a Noble notorious for starting fights with his neighbors and high taxes until he was overthrown by Naird and huge number of peasants. Beyler had been a cruel ruler and even the king behind Beyler’s back admitted he wasn’t a fair ruler. Q: What was it like growing up under an unfair ruler? A: It was harsh and unfair, with a Lord who would force us as young boys to work in the fields where it was wet and soggy, most of us died of sickness before we were 17 years of age. Q: What caused you to get the idea to overthrow Beyler? A: Well I saw everyone around me dying and i thought to myself “Why should I remain here while everybody here is working themselves to their death and so I found a group of friends who were willing to cooperate with me and our movement slowly gained popularity until even the servants in the house joined the rebellion. Q:How long did it take Beyler to realise you placed a siege at his castle? A: It took him awhile that his “Faithful servants” had taken all of his land and prevented any of his food to reach him. When he finally realized he was cut off from the world. That’s when he called for his knights and my talents really showed. Q: Why did you take up as lord after Beyler? A: I in all Honesty didn’t choose to be lord after Beyler, the people chose me instead. We worked together to take down Beyler but it would ruin our freedom if we didn’t choose our ruler before another lord came over and took us, and I was the leader and I never forgot my promise to get us a better ruler. Q: What was the first thing you did as a lord? A: The first thing I tried to do was lower taxes and not force anyone into the army, ironically more people joined the army after that than being forced into the army. I also tried giving women more rights, but most people objected to that, and I was forced to stop pushing for women’s rights. After many different battles against other rulers who thought we were weak, we conquered many more lands, but didn’t kill any peasants or nobles. The church gave us a blessing and we were on our way to fight against the Vikings when a fever struck our castle and we withdrew to take care of our sick. Q: Do you have any more ideas you would like to set in motion? A: I have a few more ideas up my sleeve, but none that I plan to use in the near future, most of them designed to make a peasant’s life easier. One of them is to create a weapon that can knock down a castle in one hit. My wizard has only come up with sketches of such a thing. If we create that, we would be able to knock down injustice against peasants, all over the continent. Another one is a water powered forge, a forge that uses the force of moving water to force a hammer to smash at a metal to create tools and armor, it will be a long process but our engineers our ready to go through the hard work to finish this project. And after that who knows what you could make?
