King Arthur
By: Sir Noah Dolinko
England - Today I have with me the one and only, King Arthur! King Arthur is the youngest king of England ever; he hasn't even been deemed a knight yet although he is king. One day a sword in a stone appeared and it read the one who removes this sword is the rightful king of England. Every man in England has tried to remove the sword but all have had no success. One-day king Arthur was supposed to bring a sword to his knight and accidently removed the sword with no effort. Within the year he has become our beloved king. Q: Arthur, you must feel very overworked being the youngest king of England ever, am I right? A: "Yes it does affect me somewhat but I never let my age affect how I run the country. I feel that nothing would change my decisions no matter how much older I would be. This country is my responsibility and I will treat it as mine.” Q: Right and how do others feel about a young man running the entire country? A: "Well some people don't respect me because of my age as expected but many people support me. Age is just a number and I believe that my maturity is what matters most and I am definitely ready to handle this task.” Q: That is correct, many people are in favor of your rule and you are up to the plate. What are some of your responsibilities of being king? A: "The first thing is seeing that all the people are happy and taken care of. Everyday people come to the castle and ask for things and for the most part I help. However, sometimes there are thing that even I cannot control. The second major thing would be to keep England safe from outside forces. When a threat arrives, I make sure that the safety of our kingdom is above all, the first priority. " Q: Great and how do you feel about fighting with other territories? A: "It is no kings wish to be in battle, although he must always be ready. I would not desire to fight and gain land, I think what we have now is enough. Although, when someone challenges this country, I will not hesitate to defend my country." Q: Couldn't have said it any better myself. Now, what would you say your relationship with Sir Lancelot is right now? A: "Sir Lancelot has always been a friend of mine, I may even consider him my brother. Although, I would have to put my kingdom in front of all of my emotions towards Sir Lancelot. So if he threatens this country then I wouldn't put my personal feeling ahead of my job." Q: That's understandable but it would be hard for you to do battle with the man you consider family correct? A: "Yes and as of right now that is the worst case scenario but Sir Lancelot is not making it easy for me to help him." Perfect and you have been a great guest and I thank you for being here. “Thank you for having me.” You are welcome anytime, that it for today come back next week for more interviews! |
King Henry VIII
by Sir Alucard PALACE OF PLACENTIA: Last week, I received an exclusive interview with King Henry VIII, the king who has been rumored to have not been faithful to his wives. Additionally, he has also been portrayed as a dastardly villain who disobeys the pope and the Catholic faith. We met in a large meeting room, which had a large rectangular mahogany table in the center, dominating the room. The walls were adorned with beautiful silky tapestries, and the floor was covered with a thick crimson carpet. The chandelier hanging from the high ceiling had numerous candles attached, but the plentiful light could not even brush the darkness nesting above us. I came into the room and took a seat next to the king, who was wearing a large, billowing, crimson robe. The room in itself was a grand sight indeed, but the crimson was a little done to death. We quickly exchanged formalities, and agreed that we should get down to business. Alucard: King Henry, regarding your prowess as king... {short pause} tell me about your accomplishments during your reign as king. King Henry: Well, people have told me that I’m a very charismatic leader, and the fact that I could successfully conceive an heir to the throne was a great relief. During the period of time in which I could not get a son was a period of much stress for me. A: Yes, indeed. How was it for you when you made the marital treaty with Spain? KH: Ah, yes... that was my marriage with Catherine of Aragorn.... She was a good wife, and was faithful to me to her last. A: …{moment of silence, sensing the irony in his words} And what about you? Were you... faithful, to her? KH: {frowning} Of course I was! I... I only did what was best for my kingdom! A: …Whatever could you mean? KH: I-I... I merely conceived an heir! A kingdom without an heir is a catastrophe in the making! A: But, what of your other children? I have heard that you’ve had... {pause, searching for the words}... complications with your family. KH: I cannot think of any that you should know of {defensively}. A: Really, your majesty? What of your... {pause, again}.... plentiful number of wives? KH: That was only due to the lack of an heir, and it was their own fault that one could not be conceived. I was faithful to each, though, in her own right. A: Then, what of the executions of Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard? And the detaining of Catherine of Aragon and Anne of Cleves? KH: {paling visibly} It... is not something a commoner like yourself could ever understand. A: I mean no disrespect when I say this, but I may understand more than you think. KH: {expression turning to anger} Oh, really now? A: {losing patience} I apologize, my lord, but this conversation seems to be going nowhere. If you do not mind, I will be taking my leave now. {stands} KH: Yes, yes, it would be better if you departed now... Better for us both. Have a safe trip back, kind sir. {with more than a hint of sarcasm} A: Thank you, my lord. {backs out of the room slowly} |
