Womens rights in the medieval times By: Lady AnastasiaWomen in the Medieval times were treated very different from now. Women had a lot of responsibilities. Most of them worked and did not stay at home. Many worked in workshops or had businesses. They were trusted in charge of castles when their husbands went on crusades. Unmarried women, widows, and the wives of nobles had more rights. Unmarried women could save money, sell property, and go to court to sue.
Both noble and peasant medieval women had a difficult life. Most married, peasant women were doing tasks such as cooking, sewing, weaving and spinning. In addition, they worked in the fields by planting and harvesting. However, women also gathered food and some fought in battles.
