Cry now or cry later By Matthew Somoo
WE'RE SORRY! WE WON’T BE OFF GUARD EVER AGAIN!As I remembered the two knights that were off guard messing around were now in the dungeon. The king told them once, and he did not lie about his words. King Richard II was giving brutal and harsh consequences to who was messing around with him or the castle. He also had consequences for stealing, cheating, lying. Stealing of any way, was to get your hands cut off. Cheating to be home schooled and whipped. Lying to be put in the dungeon for two whole days without food. Why was this? Why were the punishments so brutal? asked Kjvi. People had harsh consequences for a reason, that reason was that people would be scared to do anything they knew that was wrong. You steal and don’t get caught don’t think you won’t get caught the next time. The king and some of the people who lived in the village believed that punishment was the key to life, you would have to get punished for your mistakes so you would learn the next time of doing something wrong or bad. Great Britain kept on making more and more brutal punishments. King Richard did not care about the people as long his village was safe, we all understood that, but who ever protested or said anything bad about the King of how he was ruling Great Britain would have to get their tongue cut off, that was just to the extreme. 1372, as I remember how things were getting more and more brutal, this had to stop...
People cried, died, and starved. This was madness the people of the village, said. The villagers started planning an assassination for their King. Nobody, could handle this anymore not even the people he trusted, they all talked behind his back. August 21st, 2013 as I remember when the King was out thrown by his own people and happiness and joy was back to the people. “It looked like we celebrated everyday” said, Klun. It was just an amazing feeling, after the King was gone, the village was now ruled by the people.
“Past is gone, future is now.” Tiji, explaining that the past is behind us and we will have a better life. Nothing can be in our way anymore as we the people are together.
“Be the future, and never bring up the past.” Richie, another one explaining the past is behind us and future is here. We will live better, be happier, and will never regret anything..
No coincidence, I am convinced Charles killed Nichols By Reed Mathee
This tragic death took place just a few days ago. Two men walked into a bathroom at the same time and only one came out. Once the next person came in he was already down. The facts are self explanatory, some say it was just of old age but how can you explain the bruises and red marks on his neck? It would have been difficult for Charles to pull it off but it is possible. I am surely convinced with this little evidence that he did the crime!
This sort of murder is rare in these times. Death does not come like this. That could have been why Charles killed him this way if he did so. He could have predicted that no one would suspect him to choke out and kill somebody in a local bathroom. Although the most compelling reason why Charles did this is because Mr. Nichols was a former boss of Charles. Until Mr.Nichols fired him for no apparent reason. So this could have been his way of payback for their incident at work.
This all went down at a festival for various sports such as jousting. So if murder was the case it would have been difficult to hear over the music and activities going on all around. Mr.Nichols was a very frequent participant at the jousting tournament, he was here nearly every time. If Charles did kill him he could have been scoping him out for years planning it all. He most likely knew when Mr.Nichols would arrive and waited for the right time to follow him. He wanted it all to be perfect and after years, he pull it off precisely.
This festival was in mid may. This year, it was held on a Tuesday. Almost the whole village came to celebrate this event. Charles was taking a risk for if anyone came in to the bathroom he would have a witness and would be found guilty instantly. Most likely that will still be the case because after all of these facts are put together its pretty obvious. Charles must have killed mr. Nichols.
Charles reasoning for the murder makes sense, however i don’t see how he could actually carry it out. Killing a man because he fired you! It may not have even been up to him, he could have been forced to. Once all of these pieces were put together i knew he was the culprit. Once the judge sees it, he will have a slim chance of staying out of jail. After seeing these facts anyone would suspect him, and so do I!
Queen Thea's Feast By Maliha Faheem
Feast-Queen Thea had a huge feast that shocked everyone who came there and everyone who didn’t come.
Queen Thea only invite the noble and the rich. After the voting ballot she had won for the fairest lady in the kingdom by the help of the poor because she had promised that if she won the voting she will have a huge and an amazing feast for all who helped and voted for her. Also she promised that she will be fair to everyone in the kingdom. Well I guess a promise to her means nothing. This feast took place in the royal castle where she will soon be wed to the prince of the kingdom, Prince Alex VI. In the Great Hall which is on the side of the lake. An amazing and beautiful view of the lake.
I don’t know why she would do such a thing but I think because she is becoming a queen she thinks so full of herself. “She is a real nasty and a cruel person. I would never have let her win the ‘Fairest Lady’ if I knew she was this greedy.” said a 16 year-old lady Scarlett. Only the rich and the wealthy come to the great and the enormous feast. Also the nobles and the jesters came to entertain the Kings and the Queens.
“The feast was huge, the food was delicious and the entertainment was fantastic!” said Oliver, one of the nobles. The feast was two days ago. It took place from noon till dusk.
There shouldn't be royals By Brittany Abrams
In today’s society, royals run everything. They get everything they want and everyone just listens to them. People who aren’t nice don’t deserve the pleasure, you should have to work for it.
Royals have been around for awhile now. They are the rich ones that live in a safe and beautiful castle guarded by knights and filled with servants. They get feasts everyday, and the serfs would die to even remotely have any pleasure like that. The royals simply don’t appreciate us, the regular people, the serfs.
Royals are children of kings and queens, and the cycle of becoming a king comes from an original dynasty created a long time ago. Usually, the first son becomes the king when his father dies. They marry some lady, usually someone who is rich, and they become king and queen together. And the process continues.
If we get rid of the royals, everyone could be equal and peaceful. Some people say that we need them to keep us in line. We need them so we have someone to follow. Some people are so dependant on royals that they wouldn’t know what you do with themselves. But here’s the thing we would be able to survive without them, nothing would really change, except you would be able to do whatever you want.
"They won't ever treat us equally." Said a serf who was begging for a tiny scrap of food.
To have a better life we need to run them out of our town. It’s your choice pick the right one.
