Yesterday, Mooshi Somoo came back from being tortured by catholic church. He said that they had done numerous types of torture on him. Including the chair, the spanish donkey, and the cats paw, fortunately, none of these tortures were completed, but he was still severely injured. He no longer has mobility of his right leg.
The church said that the reason for this torture was because he had several counts of betrayal and disobeyed his religion. The church said that they have had enough of his betrayal and him not showing his loyalty. One of the cases has been said that he pleaded innocent, so they had him pull out a piece of iron from boiling oil, but since the burn he got from the oil blistered, he was guilty and was punished. We have not been informed on the punishment of Mooshi, but he will most likely be put in the skull crusher. The skull crusher is where a criminal’s head is placed under a metal cap with the chin placed on a metal plate. With a screw attached to the top, the more it is screwed, the tighter the space between the the plate and cap, crushing the skull of the criminal. First, the teeth are shattered into the jaw, than the eyes pop out of the eye sockets, where they had someone catch them from falling. Than the victim is left to die in agonizing pain. Thats all we know on the subject, when we get all the details on the punishment, and the sentencing we will let you know. For more information on the situation you can visit the king, and maybe he will tell you. But for now, heres a question, would you say he should live or die? -Jonathan Lakhani ___________________________________________-_-_ The Crusades On january 13, 2013 the crusades were created in the council of Clermont in the middle east. They believed that the muslims weren't thinking wrong so they had to go and help them. The crusades were a military responses created by christians from western Europe that believed that the muslim people were crazy because of their beliefs. So the crusades thought it was there job to go and stop the muslims. So they launched many Holy wars. The crusades started because jerusalem was taken by the Turks and 3000 Christians were massacred starting a chain of events which contributed to the cause of the crusades. They were started to release the holy land. The Crusades were started in 1095 at the Council of Clermont when Pope Clement preached the first crusades. The pope said “We need to claim our holy land and anything else that belongs to us.” Then the people replied with a powerful “Amen.” The first crusades only lasted till 1099 but still established the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem. The crusades were established in the christian states of europe against the Saracens. The saracens was a word to describe a Muslim during the time of the Crusades. There were a total of nine crusades but the first four were seen as the most important. They affected the wealth and power of Catholic Churches, Political matters, commerce, feudalism, and intellectual development were greatly affected by the crusades. Zaya Rasho |
Yesterday, medieval women's disliked the way they lived their lives. Most likely its because they have no choice and they had to live their lives because it was expected of them to live that way in the middle ages.
During these days, most medieval women would be doing housework and supporting their husband. If they women lived in the village they would do almost the same work as the mens but they get less money than the mens. About 90% of the woman's lived in rural land and so they would have to do a work that involved the farm. Most womens in the middle ages hoped to be a servant for the rich. They have limited freedoms compared to the mens. Some were they can’t get married without the parents permission, they can’t divorce, they can’t own any kind of business unless they were widows also they can’t inheritage any land if their brothers were still alive. If they had a rich background, they would get arranged marriage when they were little and marry when they were a teenager. A family from the rich side told us, “Fair ladies like us have no problems, yet we never know who we would marry. We would marry as young as age 13 but we never knew if he was good or bad. It was just an arranged marriage to gain land or money from the other family. There’s no such thing called love.” They would live like this because it was expected of them. Also they didn’t have freedom they must have a men beside them to go anywhere they want to. The mens would be outside working and the woman's would be in the house doing housework. Which is cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc. If they didn’t do this they would be yelled at or sometimes they would even get abused! A lady told us, “One of my dearest friend, was married when she was young. Her parents never loved her, she was treated very poorly. I feel so sorry for her, and I’m living perfectly fine. She got beaten by her husband yesterday!” This problem is mostly about women's treated unfairly. This is in a small village that was so well known but has no name. This problem was just known yesterday when the fair ladies told us all about their problems or their friends problems. Surely they were scared to tell us. Today August 13, 1348, in the villages the most beauteous Europe, The Black Death is trotting in. Joan, the king’s daughter is pronounced dead, anyone and everyone is exposed, and if thee stumble upon it, ye will surely die, there’s no joust against it. No soul knows of the source to this horrid disease. It’s always fatal, within two to four days, ye will be on thou art deathbed. The symptoms of The Black Death is painful swelling lymph nodes(in the throat), red, purple, or black and lumpy swelling on thy arms, legs, neck or groin. Also, many people are known to get high fevers, the urge to vomit, bleeding in the lungs, mental disorientation, and muscular pains. Everybody is exposed to The Black Death. Many people are turning to corpses in minutes because of the poor sanitation in London. Our bustling population is declining rapidly. King Edward III’s daughter has been told to be dead when she took her trip to France as a blessing from her parents. England is now under lockdown in fear of The Black Death. “I miss her dearly, I’d do anything to have her back, if it weren’t for that dreadful disease, we’d be happy and safe in our Kingdom.” Said King Edward III. This fatal disease is spreading instantaneously. Almost all of London is trembling in fear, while kids are singing “ring around the rosey” because of The Black Death. The Death is causing costs and wages to arise, peasants moved from the country to town, and it’s responsible for the decline of the Feudal System. “While I’m watching my children play, I now have to deal with the thought of them getting The Black Death.” The peasant said. It’s only the the late 1340’s and we’ll start the 50’s off with a terrible beginning. The Kings, Queens, Princesses, Princes, Peasants, everyone in our era is rattling the land with fear. Markets are shutting down, Castles are under arrest, everything is falling apart. First it spread to France, then to England, and now it’s spreading across the nation to Asia. -Angela Martin ____________________________________________________ Yesterday, medieval women's disliked the way they lived their lives.
